May Bank Holiday - Paris

Early start Saturday morning (4:00), Tunnel - France - Paris (12:30). The start of three great days in France. Managed to see all the main attractions, Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and a lot more including the Louvre, (we managed to circumvent a two hour queue and walked straight in to find it was free on the first Sunday of the month).

In between the site seeing there was of course the food and drink. We found a lovely, small, friendly restaurant near the Sacre Coeur which we ate at two nights. There were also a few visits to some cafes and bars.

On the way back we stopped in Arras for a few hours and had a lunch at a restaurant we have been to before.

Easter Break

Having a good break from work, (will have to do something tomorrow and over the weekend), We had a wonderful Easter weekend with Jonathan back home for a few days; the Pell's over for Easter Sunday, with our traditional game of Risk, (men only, women watching a film).

Have been able to do a few walks, usually ending up at some real ale pub, (good planning).

Last weekend we had a few days at Centre Parcs Sherwood Forest with some good friends. Weather was brilliant.

We have just booked our next little break a long weekend away in Paris.

Lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons

Just back from our relaxed three and a half hour lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Raymond Blanc's restaurant near Oxford. A wonderful experience. The food and service was, as you would expect, excellent. Already planning when we can go back.
The slow journey home in the snow could not spoil the day.

February Half Term in Wales

Great start to holiday. Went down to Cardiff on Saturday and picked up two tickets for the Scotland match. What a game! What a finish! Sue's first international game.

After the game, and a few beers watching the France Ireland game, it's down to the Gower and Three Cliffs Bay for two nights in a B&B ( http://www.parc-le-breos.co.uk/ ). Weather glorious and just the right way to unwind. Will visit family on the way home.
